Blog talk-What are comments?

The definition of comments from WordPress.com is below.

Most blogs have a method to allow visitors to leave comments. There are also nifty ways for authors of other blogs to leave comments without even visiting the blog! Called “pingbacks” or “trackbacks“, they can inform other bloggers whenever they cite an article from another site in their own articles. All this ensures that online conversations can be maintained painlessly among various site users and websites.

Now check out what Blogger says about comments:

Blogger has a Comments feature that provides visitors with the ability to attach instant feedback to a specific blog post. If you choose to enable comments on your posts, then people who read your blog will have the option of submitting their own text in response to what you have published. Blogger will publish these comments on your Post Pages, usually right underneath the post that inspired the feedback. Note: you can turn off or delete comments if you wish.

Please take time to explore all the links in the narrative. There is a wealth of basic information that will be useful for the beginning blogger using WordPress.com or Blogger.com

  • Comments are wonderful because they add even more fresh content to your blog! And Content id King to the search engines.
Additionally it makes it more interesting for your visitor and can spawn some serious recognition if you happen to blog about something in the news. I posted a comment regarding a new Disney policy and got a response from the Disney blog!
I always set my blogs software to notify me when I’ve received a comment and I always respond with my own comment – as opposed to an e-mail. This adds even more content to the blog.
I prefer to receive comments on my blogs as opposed to getting e-mail responses to them because of this!

  • When do you think it is necessary to stop all comments coming to your blog?
