Reasons That Your Blog Could Fail

Of all the people that have big dream of making a great living on the Internet there are more then half that will end up failing before the first month is over. So what is the difference between the people that are failing and the people that are making a huge amount of money working on the Internet?

Blogging has become a hugely popular way for people to make money online. However there are many who are becoming frustrated because they are not making the kind of money that they hoped they would by running a blog.

So what are some reasons as to why someone would fail in blogging?

You are unhappy with what you are doing.

You can fail with running a blog if you are not happy with what you are doing. You will not be productive and will likely end up making excuses to avoid working on your blog altogether if it is not something that you are completely passionate about doing. The wrong attitude is a certain sign of a business that will fail.

You have the wrong priorities.

You can spend and entire day feeling that you have worked your butt off to improve your business and be completely worn out by the end of the day. The bad part is that when you sit back to think about you really did not do anything that was truly productive. You need to have a very clear idea as to what are the top priority tasks that you need to complete concerning your blog each and every day. You also need to be able to determine the tasks that can be set aside for later so that you can be truly productive.

You can easily become distracted.

If you are sitting at your computer trying to get some work done and it seems like you are always getting called away to take care of something else then you are going to have a really hard time making your blog a success. You need to focus on small tasks that will make your productivity level increase. For instance you could take the telephone away from your work area while you are working or work on writing your blog posts and then take care of promoting your blog. By setting yourself up with a schedule that you can keep you will be able to limit your distractions during the day.

You do not want to learn from your mistakes.

If you are doing something like wasting time and you do not seem to see any problem with that then you are definitely going to fail in blogging. You need to be able recognize your mistakes and be able to make positive changes to correct them otherwise you are doomed to be repeating your mistakes over and over again.

If you can avoid making these mistakes when you are working on making your blog a success then you are going to be well on your way to creating a great online income for yourself.

Does Blogging Make Money?

Does Blogging Make Money? by Kristine Wirth

Blogging is an extremely popular way to build your business. But can blogging actually make you money? The answer is an emphatic YES!

There are countless ways to make money through your blog from placing advertisements, promoting affiliate products and even getting paid for blogging for other people. Here are some of the ways you too can make money from simply blogging.

First off, one of the most popular ways to make money from your blog is by showing advertisements. You can do this with various advertising programs but by far the most popular is Google’s AdSense program. With a few simple steps, you can be displaying advertisements straight from Google on your blog. The benefit for you? Whenever someone clicks on one of those ads, you get paid.

Another way that blogging can make you money is through affiliate programs. If you find a product or service that you particularly like and want to recommend to your website visitors, all you need to do is sign up to become an affiliate of the product or service you like so well. Once you sign up as an affiliate, you will be given a special and unique link that you can then place on your blog. If one of your site visitors clicks on this link and subsequently makes a purchase, then you get paid a percentage of the overall cost of the product. Some companies will even pay you when someone fills out a form.

The difference between the two we’ve just discussed is that one is completely passive, meaning you don’t have to lift an additional finger in order to get paid while the other one requires that you actively add these links for your affiliate products to your blog.

You can also choose both of these methods as well. Regardless of which direction you choose to take, you will still be required to add posts to your blog on a regular basis. In order to earn money you need traffic and you won’t receive any traffic if you’re not posting regularly.

Yet another way that blogging can make you money is by doing it for other people. Maybe you don’t want to go through the process of setting up a blog, adding advertisements to it, posting affiliate products or even keeping it up to date. Another option you have that’s often overlooked is that you get hired to blog for someone else.

You can simply become a member of RentaCoder or eLance where you offer your services as a “blog writer”. There are many companies who need to keep their blogs up to date but simply don’t have the time or the resources to do so. By offering up your services, you will get paid for posting to blogs and the blog owner will then benefit from getting content placed on their blogs which otherwise would not have happened.

Just be sure when you’re offering up your services that you are truthful and actually are knowledgeable in the subject matter you will be writing about.

So there you have it, at least three ways blogging can make you money. This is by no means an exhaustive list but will get you started in the right direction. Remember, you can set up a blog for absolutely no cost whatsoever and almost instantly be earning an income from it. So the answer to the question we posed earlier about “does blogging make you money?”, is an absolute “yes”. But as with all things in business, it does take time and effort along with continuous action.

How Can You Make Money With Your Blog

Ok, it is probably about time I start putting more on this blog about making money. Frankly, I am still learning.Boy am I learning. Ask my husband he will tell you how much I research this topic. I agree with Mike, it does take work and time.

I am trying not to be sleep deprived and that is why I created another blog called Healthy Internet Users to remind me. Actually Ray put it up because he felt that I should keep my health background in the blogging mix. He is so wise.

So here is a good post from Mike Paetzold. He has a really good  and meaty blog and excellent teleseminars. So  slide on over and ask your questions. Not sure if he is a baby boomer or not but he has a high level of expertise and excellent in sharing.  He gives a good overview of the subject. I promise to begin more posts on some things that are or are not working for us.

Thanks, Mike.

What Are Your Blogging Options?-For the Comparison Chart Contest

This chart was submitted by Blogging Betty Boomer.

What Blogging Options Exist?

Blogging options are divided into four categories.
1. Social Networks with blogging.
As many of you already know, social networks are communities online. This particular type of community will link folks together by using personal profiles of members in the community. Along with the many things you can do like share photos and friend lists they also include blogging. It must be noted; however, that blogging in a social network site is usually not business related sites.
Social networks can be the easiest and the cheapest (often free) platform to do a blog for the first time. They include sites like Myspace.com and Xanga.com.
2. Hosted BLOG ONLY platforms
This blogging option is a step above social networks that include blogs. The focus is just on blogging. Well known blog platforms that fall into this category include Blogger.com and WordPress.com.

3. Self-Installed blogging platforms
This is a serious and powerful initiative. Whereas, you can learn to install the software yourself on your computer many folks hire out this task for the f first time unless they are the technically savvy. BUT IT CAN BE DONE!
Common programs include Moveable Type and WordPress.org.

4. Web hosts with preinstalled blog platforms
Many very good web hosting companies now provide preinstalled blog programs for their customers. That means programs like Moveable Type and WordPress.org are made real easy to launch if you are using that particular hosting company.
I personally use two hosting companies that make it easy for me to install my WordPress.org blogs. You can visit them here.
