There are a lot of blog plugins for wordpress software. What is a plugin? Well I am glad you asked. WordPress has the following definition: Plugins are tools to extend the functionality of WordPress. In other word it is a hemy engine in a car, a St. John’s suit for a woman, a designer suit for a man, it is stuff that adds an extra ka-ching to a bank account.
Let me give you an example: Just a few days ago I added a plug in to this site for stats. Now I already view the stats with my host but I wanted something directly tracking some stats on the site every time I view the site from the administration panel. I like this program and it gives me some info that my host stats do not give me.
Well anyway I went to the wordpress documentation and keyed in plugins in the search box and WOW!
Now I could have also did a search on one of the search engines and said “statistical plugins for wordpress.” Or I could have emailed thewordpresswizard Cathy and asked her for advice. She can also be hired to help you with installation if you run into issues.
So below is a screen shot of part of my stat page which is directly on my dashboard.
The name of the plugin is wordpress.com-stats
Now listen, I am still learning and sharing info so if anyone out there knows more help a blogging boomer out and share the goods. (smile) Remember our goal is to make some of this techi stuff usable, understandable and uniform(developing systems that will help us to communicate our messages and monetize our sites for boomers like ourselves.
